I have always known that if I was lucky enough to have a baby I would want to find out as soon as possible whether it was a boy or a girl. Truth be told…this is mainly because I wanted to have the nursery up and running and ready to go by the time he or she arrived.
At around 14 weeks pregnant my husband and I found out I was carrying a girl. What fun – let the nursery styling begin!
When we moved into our place in December 2011 I had the entire interior repainted. While most of the house was given a coat of Wattyl’s White Delight, I chose Wattyl’s Snowdonia (a beautiful grey) for the two front rooms which form part of the original 1890s workers cottage. Skirting, architraves, doors & window frames were given a semi gloss coat of White Delight.
The second of the two original rooms was to become the nursery. I have always loved bright pink and grey so I was thrilled to be able to indulge my fantasy of a bright pink and grey nursery. I decided on a blue/green bright turquoise to break up all the pink and complement the main two colours. So for the next few months I carried these around in my pocket…
…and then I got stuck in!
