Walking through Paris: a love letter to her buildings

As many of you can imagine the organisation tragic in me wants to set out my series on our France trip in chronological order, however the creative in me just wants to share with you what is inspiring me right now. And today… the creative wins!

I have been very fortunate to have been to France a number of times prior to this trip. When I was little my father had a fellowship in Bristol, a few hours south of London, and instead of a car we had a campervan and traveled through Europe, including France, during school holidays. As a high school and uni student my parents would take biennial trips to France {my father is true Francophile} and would kindly include my siblings and I. However most of my previous time in France was spent in the countryside. We would fly into Paris, spend a day or so visiting the important museums and art galleries and then set out for a tiny town with fresh food markets teaming with produce.

And as amazing as those holidays were, I have not previously had a chance to really take my time in the city of lights and… to look up.02- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 201403- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014This trip, however, was different. I was able to fully immerse myself in the streets of Paris, wandering for no other reason than to take in the city and her seriously beautiful buildings. Here, a few snaps of the structures I can’t get out of my mind.20- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014The view from our apartment was quite spectacular, yet even with nightly shows of the sparkling lights of the tower {which Little Miss loved} I couldn’t take my eyes of the buildings below.01- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014 07- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 201406- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014And then there is the light, oh the Parisian light, shining through the beautiful Autumn leaves made every street corner make me reach for the camera.04- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 201421- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 201417- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014 11- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014 10- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014 13- Paris buildings- styling and photography by CATHERINEGRACE copyright 2014Oh the delight!
