Concrete jungle: exploring in Australian fashion

Little Miss and I meandered around our suburb, head to toe in affordable Australian fashion

Last week I popped Little Miss in a cute floral dress in the morning and grabbed one of my favourite go-to combos for myself. I realised {after a coffee or two} that the two of us were head to toe in Australian threads. I love supporting and promoting Australian designers so I thought we would pop out to a little back lane near our house and take a few snaps.#08 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014This Printebebe Winter-weight cotton drill dress is just perfect for these cool sunny days. A long sleeve cotton tee underneath, again from Printebebe, helps keep Little Miss warm while she is going through a “I won’t wear a jacket” phase. As we move towards Spring the dress will keep on working, just without the extra tee.#15 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#20 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014A simple pair of Seed tights in thick cotton keeps little legs cosy and I’ve toughened up her floral dress with one of my favourite pieces in her wardrobe – these leopard print Love, Luck & Wonder hi-tops. I freely admit that when I purchased these adorable shoes I did so purely due to aesthetics – I was still pregnant when I found them! However, they have since become one of Little Miss’ most worn pair of shoes. Not only do they open up very wide {making it easy to get wriggling toes into the shoe} they have a solid rubber base and the hi-top provides support which is just perfect for new walkers.#05 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#02 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014I have on my trusty Nobody Denim Beau jeans in Ecru. It may seem odd to wear white with a toddler, however this 100% cotton denim allows easy soaking in Napisan and washing at high heat to remove any stains. A true classic, I practically live in striped Bassike tees and I’ve popped on an old Witchery silk & wool long sleeve top, to keep the chill at bay. Get a similar look here and here.#17 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014I’ve never met a fun loafer I didn’t love and these Tom Gunn {available from Quincy} spotted lovelies are no exception. Teamed with a few pieces of delicate jewellery and I am good to go!#09 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#16 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#10 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014Pearl ring and bar necklace by Jolie & Dean / crystal necklace by Rocket & Tess / geometric pendant picked up at The Finders Keepers Markets in Sydney.#03 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#06 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014 And we both rugged up in a wool I Love Mr Mittens Bille scarf.#11 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014#12 - Concrete Jungle - Australian designers - styling and photography by catherine and grace - copyright 2014What Australian designers are you loving right now?

  1. Catherine, was missing you, as had not had a ” post” for a while, so thanks for this. Keep up the good work. Loved the shops in Avalon. S

  2. I love your concept of finding a heavier weight dress to pair with a warmer shirt underneath to keep the littles warm. I’m constantly fighting to convince the littles to wear a jacket, it’s a battle I rarely win.

    • Thanks Hope. Yes, for some reason the jacket brings out tears and tantrums which just are not pleasant for anyone. The Winter weight Printebebe dresses are particularly durable and warm. xxC
