A Hitched magazine Style Sesh with Holly Hipwell of The Flower Drum

{the day}

Take self-taught floral {super} enthusiast, bucket-loads of market fresh flowers, a room full of eager students and style it all up like only the Hitched team can and you have the makings of a truly wonderful day.

Today I was luckily enough to spend the day with Holly Hipwell of The Flower Drum for Hitched magazine’s first Style Sesh for 2014 – Floral Styling with Holly Hipwell. With gorgeous fresh blooms to choose, from Holly led us through a table arrangement styling session in the morning and, after a delicious lunch from Mario’s Kitchen and some group mood board inspo, we tackled bouquet styling in the afternoon {harder than I thought!}.

It was grey & drizzly outside so, together with the dark walls of Studio Neon, we had the perfect moody backdrop for the vivid florals picked by Holly.  A delightful day; new skills learnt, tips & tricks {for buying, storing & styling florals} obtained and I gained a new appreciation for the beauty of flowers I would normally shy away from.  To top it off, not only did we take home an overflowing goodie bag… leftovers from lunch were packaged up to take home, perfect for the hardworking husband who was on call this weekend!
