Style tips for your wedding…a common thread

Using the one coloured ribbon across various facets of your styling can bring the theme together and ensure the day is cohesive from the first moment the guests spy the bridesmaids, until the final farewell.  We used a silk grosgrain ribbon in various widths on the Order of Service booklets, menu cards/place cards, favours, lolly bar, buckets of flat footwear, cake and the cake knife.  The bride wore a custom belt made with a thick style of the ribbon and one of her bridesmaids used a slightly thinner version for a relaxed bow style tie above her pregnant belly.  The florist also used the ribbon to secure the bouquets, corsages and buttonholes.  We even tied a beautiful bow on the bride’s parents’ gorgeous lab, Elli!

Using a muted tone for the central theme ribbon enabled it to be used all over the wedding without overwhelming the guests with a saturation of colour.   If you want to start the theme even earlier, you could use the same ribbon on your save the date cards, invites and any other pre-wedding stationery the guests will receive (instructions, maps, registry information).
